The MCS Studio
This room is where it all happens...The MCS studio. The
studio is the room where the most production occurs. Every episode of
Word Update takes place on this set. The studio contains two cameras that
are used during the show. The one in the center of the picture is the
main camera. The one on the right is camera 2 which is used at the open
and close of the show.
The set can be used for a single anchor show, a dual anchor
show, or an interview.
Here is a view from the anchor chair...

As you can see camera 1 contains a device known as a teleprompter.
The teleprompter is a computer monitor that is mounted under the camera
with a two-way mirror mounted above it. The mirror reflects the monitors
image and the anchor reads the stories. The computer on the left in the
background operates the teleprompter.
Here is the teleprompting computer...
The operator sits at this computer and can speed up and
slow down the speed of the text by moving the mouse.
The studio usually has 5 crew members during the live
show.
