Our Control Room

Welcome to the control room, the most technical room in MCS. The control room houses all the equipment that allows us to create Word Update. We generally have 5 positions in the control room during the live show. Heres a list of the positions.

Position	Description
VTR Operator	Runs the videotapes for video segments.
Audio Operator	Operates the soundboard. Plays music during the show and adjusts microphone levels.
Toaster Operator	Operates the Video Toaster. The toaster makes the graphics and switches cameras.
Assistant Director	Passes out rundowns and helps the director and crew during the show.
Director	In charge of the show.

The control room also houses the MCS cable channel equipment.

The Magicbox Alphagen

The Alphagen creates and runs all the graphics for the cable channel. It also can run the VTR that is sitting on top of the monitor. This allows us to program a time for a tape to run and it will start at the specified time.
